Jealousy

After almost completing Bella's "Cabin Shirt" as she calls it, I had a huge amount of envy of her, and her wardrobe. I took matters into my own hands today, and created this tunic for our trip so we could have "matching cabin shirts." I just love this fabric, it is so super soft and comfy. The facing is made of a soft flannel, that will become pajama pants in the near future....

Cabin Shirt

Another mad dash of mine to create some warm/functional pieces for Bella for our trips to Grandpa and Grandma's cabin. It came at the perfect time, I am in Fall clothing mode, and also am in need of some awesome duds for Belle for this weekend's trip. This little top is made of a super soft, indigo chambray cotton. All that is left for this little cutie is buttons on the yoke, and a sweet little hem. Preorder yours today if you wish, just convo me via Etsy.

Short Visit

Bella, Auntie Shell Shell and I paid visit to baby Gracie and her mommy and daddy the other day. It was so funny, Bella wanted to play with the doll house more than kiss the baby, and when Gracie cried, she was undoubtedly scared. Gracie would let out a cry, and Bella would steer clear of her.

Buggy Buggy

I am still really wanting to hang on to these days of summer since we live in such a hot climate. I wanted to design something very simple, cool, and easy to wear. I created this bloomy bubble top, that wears like a dream, made of pure linen, no ironing required, because it almost looks better on when the fabric is somewhat crinkled. I am now able to have Bella model some items a little more if she is told, "Hey! Let's go outside and look for bugs while mommy takes some pictures of you finding them!"

So, on that note, in the future, you will either see food, or a bug cage in every photo taken of Bella.....

Fall 2008 Preview

Oh Baby, I am havin' fun. I have officially kicked off the experimentation phase of my fall 2008 collection of goodies. I am currently working on this "funnel/cowl neck" long sleeved knit top. This will be a Bella Blue wardrobe staple this fall. It will be available in long, or short sleeves. It may be buttoned all the way up, or left down for an incredibly comfy twist on your traditional "turtleneck." It has tons of "hardware," little buttons that resemble snaps like those on traditional western shirts.

The Best Day

A miracle happend to our family today, my neice Gracie made a surprising, and shocking entrance into our world. Her mommy was hit last night with her labor, out of nowhere it seemed. She was 40 weeks yesterday, with noooo sign of the Gracie coming soon. Then at 9pm, she finally felt some changes. She labored at home for a short while, then went to the hospital and was already 8 cm dilated. Gracie made her debut only a few hours later. The most awesome thing of all...

Today is My Bella's birthday too.
A few more interesting facts:

Gracie Lee
Born August 10th 2008
6 lbs 7 oz
19 1/2 inches long
Born at 632 am

Isabella Juliette
Born August 10th 2005
6 lbs 13 oz
19 inches long
Born at 635 pm

Am or Pm, doesn't matter, they were born the same hour, and almost same minute as each other, and were almost the same size! For those of you who don't know, Gracie is my older brother's daughter. Crazy huh? Please enjoy these first photos of her.

Birthday Fun

What a wonderful birthday party Bella had. We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family. I am beat, and can't wait to meet sleep...I still have to wrap up a few goodies for the birthday girl to give her tomorrow on her "real" birthday. Just lovin this, that's what being a kid is all about! Oh, and the mustache, Bella is obsessed with fake mustaches. Don't know why. But oh yeah, her auntie and uncle gave her a economy pack of them for her b-day, and it was the hit of the party. They are a bit fuzzy, leaving somewhat of a bad taste in your mouth:O Queen of the Balloons..
Kaeleigh and Bella together at the table
McQueen on the speedway. (She is obsessed with Mcqueen as well)
ED sporting the "Mustache"
Emma, loving CAKE!!!!!!!

Blue Belle

I have my "Happy Face" on tonight as we call it. I have been wanting to make this skirt for Belle forever. I haven't the time. I wanted more than anything for her to wear it at her birthday party tomorrow. I haven't even cleaned for the party yet, I managed to squeeze in a few hours to make this today for her. I couldn't be happier. This is how determined I was to finish this skirt for her for the party. We were both up this morning at 6 am. I was finishing the pattern on the floor of her room while she played Barbies, and I would cut in every once in a while and be the "daddy" (Ken). Then as soon as she went down for a nap, I was able to sew up a storm, very therapeutic for me with such a long week behind us. I even was able to rummage through Grandmother's button box for a special button. I hope this fits the little gal. The waist is not elastic, and has to be perfect. Belle still has such a toddler belly. She will wear the skirt with a petticoat that was my mother's when she was Bella's age. It is a little short, but who cares. It is beautiful, and appears to also be handmade. Now to decide what top she will wear with it......

Eco Friendly Favors

We will be celebrating Belle's third birthday this weekend, with all her friends and family, (and mommy and daddy's too). I wanted to do something different with the favor bags, and had just purchased this beautiful bamboo/cotton fabric, that was just dying to be cut. It was meant for apparel, but I couldn't resist. The pouches are complete with sea life, crayons, and hopefully (if there is time) handmade barrets. The pouches can later be used for storing treasures instead of the plastic counterparts that are simply thrown away. I would like very much to construct these and sell them in the shop someday, folks that don't sew, may find it a special little touch at their little ones' party too!
